i have a longitudinal peroneal brevis tendon split.  pain is on the opposite side of the ankle.  why?

You could be: "overcompensating" to AVOID pain on the same side as the tear.( A major symptom of Peroneus  Brevis tear is pain on walking!

Apply ICE to both sides of your ankle prior to activity and wear good ankle supporting shoes (Until this is dealt with via surgery)

Why not wait: Nd while waiting get a prp injection and keep your foot in a cam walker. What conservative treatment have you tried to date?

i have a small split to longitudinal peroneous brevis.  i have pain only on the inside of my ankle (not outside). what could cause? treatment options?

Tear: Rest and immobilization may help it heal otherwise nothing necessary  needs to be done

i had a mri left ankle reported instability and repeated ankle sprains many times. impressions stated: the medial and lateral intrinsic ligaments are intact. longitudinal split tear of the peroneus brevis. would this prove my instability of my ankle?

: Possibly.  The problem with multiple sprains is that your brain does not easily register where your foot is in space, called proprioception.  Sometimes a short course of PT may be useful to 'retrain' that sense in your brain.

i have split tears to both the peroneal  tendons. tried boot for 6 weeks now cast and non weight bearing 4 weeks - still hurts.  whats next?

Peroneal tears: Unfortunately, not all tendons respond to "conservative" management--boots, no weight bearing, etc. And even more important, not all tendons follow our preferred treatment time and involvement. Only a careful evaluation by an orthopedic foot surgeon can determine what is the next "best" step, including surgery.

Possible tear: From your question it sounds like the images show something along the length of a tendon that could be from artifact or a tear. Fluid in the subdeltoid and subacromial bursa are secondary findings of a rotator cuff tendon tear. Rotator cuff tendon tear can happen in along the grain of the tendon (a longitudinal split) or across the grain of the tendon which shows up as a discontinuous tendon.

Depends: Many peroneal tears can be treated with rest, bracing or other forms of temporary immobilization plus a rehabilitation program. Surgery can be utilized if you fail conservative care. The lack of visualization of the anterior talofibular ligament means that the MRI slices were not thin enough to capture it or it has likely been injured in the past. Many function well with an abnormal atfl on mri.

No, that is rare: If no growth over the past year, then growth has finished. Most people reach their maximum height in their late teens. Without nutritional problems or chronic childhood illnesses, height is largely based on genetics and parental heights. Aside from eating right, exercising, sleeping well, and being happy, there's not much a person nor his doctor can do to increase height.

perhaps 4 weeks: If involved only myelin coverings, about 4 weeks for recovery.  If injury to central axon, regrowth at 0.1mm daily.  Emg test may help predict recovery.
