Many drug: Interactions -any h/x liver disease, minimal dosing. Not meant as a long duration medication to my knowledge.

For one thing...: It doesn't treat the anxiety, just covers one of the symptoms. Consider cutting the problem off at the source: get some good therapy for the anxiety. Then you won't need the zofran (ondansetron).

More's not better: Zofran (ondansetron) may slow the transit time in the gut and rarely the bowels can stop moving.  Therefore potential to prolong the period of time in wh/a virus is in contact w/the gut.  In a study in children w/vomiting gastroenteritis who took zofran (ondansetron) x 48 hrs, return to the er w/diarrhea was higher in the kids w/zofran (ondansetron).  Another study gave 1 dose & the er return was less w/zofran (ondansetron) but kids had more diarrhea.

: If one is nauseous, then zofran can help. If there is no nausea or vomiting, then there is no reason to take zofran. But overall, it does not worsen the underlying illness or cause it to last longer.

what are the dangers of long term use of zofran? my fiancee has nausea due to three craniotomies, the first a slow bleeding aneurysm. she contracted a staph infection during surgery necessitating the other two surgeries?

: No apparent risk for long term use of Zofran but she may eventually need combined antiemetics for effectively controlling post op nausea/vomiting.

Zofran: Pharmacological studies on Zofran show that patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment (liver) may have an extended half life of Zofran. In most patients over half the drug is gone in 5.7 hours. Older patients may take longer to clear Zofran as well. It really depends what side effects you are talking about as well.

i left zofran pills in the foil wrapping, inside the box in my bag in the car for 2days.car wasnt extremely hot but def hotter than should be.effects?

Well : If Madison stay around room temperatures they're generally fine if they get a little warmer they can get weaker if they get too hot they can become ineffective. If they're too hot they degrade and are not effective at all

i am currently taking zofran (ondansetron) 8mg. today i took one at 10am, then again at 4pm and then again at 9pm. was that bad to take that many in one day? will i have any side effects from taking that many?

WELL TOLERATED: ZOFRAN (ondansetron) is very well tolerated for nausea. Most common side effect is sedation try to rest. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery.

Most likely OK: It doesn't appear, from searching a database, that are any significant drug-drug interactions between those two medications.

24 hours: is a little late to get side effects, would happen  sooner
