Please ask your gyn: Assuming i know nothing else is causing it in my pateints I have had them do that sometimes, for a certain period of time and usually it works, but u need to ask the doc who put u on that pill as that doc may want to do blood work and an ultrasound to make sure nothing else is going on.

Lower dose: The lower dose is designed to minimize side effects but the trade off is more breakthrough bleeding. There are hundreds of birth control options on the market most of which are slight variations of each other with minimal differences. I recommend taking whichever is cheapest on your insurance.

BCP timing: If you are taking the pill earlier than usual, you will be protected.  If the pill is taken longer than 24 hrs ( especially extreme low dose pills like LoLoestrin), i would use back up like condoms for the remainder of the cycle and continue at the new time.

Sounds ok: A woman on combination birth control pills, taking them properly, and is beyond her first pack of pills... has no fertile days. She is not fertile when on the pills. That means she has protection against pregnancy every day, regardless of where she is in her pill pack. Missing only 1 pill in one pack, and then taking it with the next day's pill, does not cause a noticeable drop in contraception.
