Yes, but not always: Lymphoma, or lymph node cancer, is a systemic (wide spread) disease. The most common form is hodgkins disease, which you may have heard of. There are many different forms, many of which can be treated or at least managed. Some lymphomas are very difficult to manage. An oncologist can better discuss an individuals lymphoma, with expected outcomes. Good luck.

Mystery: Why do all patients eventually die?  WE all must die of something.  We are living now on average 77-79 years, the longest in human history.  We used to die so young that we didn't live long enough to get cancer.  When the US left the colonies in the 1700's the life span was about 36 years.  Progress is being made against some cancers, but the condition of nature is to eventually die.

In advanced cancer, amount of chemo required to kill cells would kill patient.

More or less: Most but not all cancers are curable if caught early. The process for diagnosing cancer varies by cancer type and organ involved. There are only a limited number of issues where early detection is practical. The more commonly used monitoring for cancer is for cancer of the female cervix and colon cancer. Skin and oral cancers are also amenable to early detection.

Depends: It depends on the type and stage of the disease.  Early stage hodkin lymphoma is often curable.  Some are slow growing and even if not curable may grow only slowly for many years.

Metastatic Disease: Cancer that has spread from one organ to another is rarely curable but often treatable.  It really depends on the type of cancer, the organ(s) involved, and the overall health of the patient.
