Honesty: Well, you could just give her the results of the PAP (abnormal cells or no) and not mention the infectious work-up.Or you could talk to her now, let her know what your concerns are and maybe she'll take that opportunity to talk to you about personal responsibility, safe sex-you know things that every adult should know (there's worse things than chlamydia to acquire and I'm sure she wants you safe)

Dif tests : Lgv is not a very common disease in the us. Traditional testing for chlamydia is not likely to detect it. If you think you have lgv then you definitly need to be seen by a physician.

Treat regardless: I think he should be treated even if he tested negative.  Probably a poor sample.  Assuming you two are intimate.

No.: Chlamydia pneumoniae causes respiratory infection and is transmitted through the air. It is not sexually transmitted. Pap smear is not designed to detect chlamydia infection of any kind. Diagnosis of chladmyida trachomatis is by culture or dna testing. See this site for more information.

Abnormal....: Cells can be seen on a pap if inflammation is present. Chlamydia will cause inflammation, so yes, in a sense. There are lots of different kinds of abnormal paps so if you were told that you have an abnormal pap and need a procedure to figure out why, you should get that done. Do not assume it was from chlamydia. Also don't assume that you have chlamydia because your pap is abnormal. Good luck!

Yes it can be done: Pap test does not normally test for stds except for hpv virus as it is a screening test for cervical cancer.
But you can ask the doctors who are doing the pap test to check you for chlamydia and gonorrhea and the reason you want to be tested.

Both are effective: The new tests available are effective for testing for chlamydia in the urine. If you can tolerate a pelvic exam however it is probably beat to have the pelvic exam so the physician can visualize your cervix and see the extent of your infection.

i was prescribed 100mg of minocycline for my acne, for 30 days but stopped halfway. even then i took them inconsistently. can this dosage cure chlamydia as well? my partner tested positive from a pap test but i tested negative twice at 2 diff places?

: The usual dose of minocycline for acne isn't enough to reliably cure chlamydia, but probably it would prevent infeciton if exposed; or could make your test falsely negative. If your partner has had a positive chlamydia test, then despite your negative test you should be treated with a single 1 g dose azithromycin; or doxycycline for 7 days; or take your minocycline 100 mg twice daily for a week.

i took treatment for chlamydia dec 2nd, went back to get retested january 6th. results came back negative in a pap smear. am i really clear? can chlamydia come back on its own? i read that it can live in your stomach is that true

The antibiotic: treatment, should cover all locations in your body. If it recurs, it is most likely re-exposure to an infected sex partner.
