i take bentyl prn for ibs usually more constipated but since starting lipitor (atorvastatin) now lots of diarrhea can i use the bentyl for this to counteract?

Perhaps try another: If Lipitor (atorvastatin) is causing diarrhea , it is best to try an alternate statin and see if you do better.  Please talk to your doctor about it.

Not yet: Give it a few days. A viral intestinal tract infection or mild food poisoning will resolve on their own. Eat a soft, bland diet with no harsh roughage and drink adequate fluids. Use kaopectate or Imodium as needed. If symptoms persist or worsen a stool culture to check for pathogens is recommended.

What's the cause?: Not a weird question at all!  "plugging up" diarrhea will not cure an infection, fix an inflammatory process, improve an ischemic gut, or correct a functional issue.  Medical evaluation is recommended appropriate to the duration of your symptoms, associations (bleeding, weight loss, pain, vomiting), as well as your other medical co-morbidities.  Call your doctor please and get checked.

Liquid diet: It can, but it really depends on what you are drinking. Normally, just drinking liquids doesn't give you diarrhea. If the liquids contain a high amount of sugar, fats, or dairy (among other things), it is possible that your GI tract may not handle that well and the result can be diarrhea.

Not likely: Herniated disc can cause spinal stenosis which can cause loss of bowel control resulting in fecal incontinence but not neccesarily diarrhea.

Sometimes: It is unusual to have diarrhea when your diabetes is well controlled. If you develop diarrhea and have diabetes be aware: just being ill,  with or with out dehydration caused by diarrhea, can worsen control of your diabetes.  Additionally if your diabetes is not well controlled you may experience diarrhea as a sign from your body that things are not well. See your doctor for advice specific to you.

No it is not: Diarrhea can be present in other causes and conditions and can be present in pregnancy as well
but it is not only present in pregnancy but it can ba a sumptom coexisting in pregnancy.

Tips: For sore throat – gargle with warm salt water (1/2 tsp salt in 8 oz of water). * For congestion – saline nose drops or a neti pot. *For anti-inflammatory effect &amp; mobilizing mucus- homemade chicken noodle soup.**For hydration- lots of water. Try clear broth. * Add honey &amp; a small amt. of lemon juice to Chamomile tea.
