why haven't the linx device been accepted by major issurance? especially after the 5 year report? i have been denied now waiting jan 1..cpt code comes

Medical devices: and medicine in general are things which get approved very slowly if at all.  In addition to pt. safety and usefulness of the product are money considerations.  Check w/your doc first about alternate devices that may help or consider purchasing, renting, or applying for a clinical trial from the company.  Peace and good health.

hello, i had a hiatal hernia with a linx implanted about 4 months ago, and i was wondering when i would be able to workout out? heavy weights..etc

Ask your Surgeon: Your surgeon knows the extent of the procedure as well as your overall health and post-op course   We don't know all this.  Call that doc's office and ask about this or  get seen for follow-up and get a detailed answer.

No : No Nissan fundoplication have a fifty years or more of success in spite being more invasive has better track record of success now done with laparoscope as out patient make it more appealing the surgery fix the problem of hernia and reflux at the same time any other alternative like LINX could prevent reflux for a short time and it does not have long record of success yet get second opinion

Consider EUS: Talk to your GI doc about getting an endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) to ensure the nodule is nothing to worry about. Make sure you're following anti-reflux diet/lifestyle changes and that you have tried a good proton pump inhibitor (like Prilosec or Nexium, (esomeprazole) etc).
