3rd generation ...: ...Cephalosporins (the newest ones) have never been reported to cause anaphylaxis: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pmc/articles/pmc2094874/  -- and 1st and 2nd gen cephalosporins, only rarely.

If you are allergic: If you are allergic to a particular antibiotic, then you end up in a anaphylactic reaction. Most people tolerate antibiotics well.

If you had H. Pylori: and took antiiotics to treat your stomach infection then yes, your platelet count would be expected to improve. Corticosteroids are often given after an attack of anaphylaxsis so yes, that could also result in an increase in your platelet count. That said, these issues are controversial still, everyone's situation is unique. continuing antiiotics wont help if the H. pylori is gone. Talk with UR MD

Biliary obstruction: On a theoretical basis if one had hemorrhagic fever due to dengue virus you could precipitate hemoglobin in the biliary radicals.  Cannot imagine how anaphylactic shock would effect this. You need to discuss this at length with the doctors managing your condition.

Difficult question: It is possible after a few doses have been taken. Throat tightening is one symptom that can be caused by anaphylaxis (one of several likely symptoms). Throat tightening can be due to many other less sinister causes. Most importantly, the next dose could be deadly if the episode was caused by anaphylaxis. For this reason, call the prescribing doc for recs and consider consultation with an Allergist

Rare: I personally in my 25 years of practice have never seen an unequivocal allergy to either of these. Allergies to these can, however, occur but instances are rare.

Exceedingly small: on anaphyllaxis, doubtful since mostly they use very old oysters dredged up that don't have living protein in them.

but, then, the calcium isn't all that different from calcium in any other mineral form.

Might be more effective if magnesium is also given with the calcium.

Estimates of anaphylactic deaths (from drugs, foods, insect stings, and latex) in the us are 0.002 percent annually (2 per 100, 000): 500 fatalities from penicillin anaphylaxis; 40 fatalities from bee stings; 125-150 from food anaphylaxis.
