hurt my knee a month ago. had to see dr today, suspect torn ligament, fitted me with a brace.  with the brace my knee is more sore-ish. is this normal?

Be sure brace fits. : If the brace does not fit well, or is improperly applied, there might be pain. Otherwise, you may be having residual pain from your injury.

i have knee swelling after 15 days of ligament damage, what can be reason behind it ?

Follow up: Follow up with orthopaedics. It may still be related to the ligaments or you may have other damage, such as to cartilage. It is safer to be non weight bearing and be seen. All the best.

Knee: Knee pain can be for multiple reasons.  Clicking though is from a part of the knee being stretched or moved.  Possibilities include hamstring pull, synovial membrane fold, Bakers cyst, cartiledge damage.

Tendonitis? muscles?: While its hard to tell the exact reason, it would
most likely be a muscular strain or possibly
some tendonitis affected the area. This could
be secondary to overdoing certain exercises or activities
also, you want to make sure you dont have 
phlebitis?
Try ice, nsaids and mild stretching. If pain doesn't improve or worsens see an md.

Prolonged: flexion and pressure on the popliteal space should not normally be a problem unless associated with prior injury, obesity, vascular insufficiency or other pathology.  Try to uncover and correct these first.  If none of those are in play then stretch your legs regularly to avoid.

Knee joint: The knee cap is an integral part of the muscle/tendon complex that comprises the muscles of your anterior thigh which attach inferiorly at the upper part of the tibia. The knee cap exists as a bearing structure against the front of the knee joint which is protected directly behind it.

Bakers Cyst: A Baker's cyst is a common cause of a lump behind the knee. This condition develops when joint fluid leaks out from the joint cavity into the tissues behind your knee. Other causes include infections, bleeding, trauma, and, rarely, tumors. Bakers Cysts typically resolve on their own with rest of the affected limb. Avoid stretching, active exercise and straining muscles for 1-2 weeks.

I personally recommend massage therapy with physical therapy for chronic pain syndromes.  If this doesn't work, you will need a more in depth evaluation.

Ice and stretch: ice compresses and stretch 2-3 times a day especially after running for 1-2 weeks. If not better, see a doctor in person.
