Please call your OB: Your OB will want to know about your problems and will want to make sure you are not trying to go into premature labor or anything else , if you were my pt i would have you go to the labor room to do a fetal  fibronectin to r/o potential for premature labor and an OB ultrasound and to check for cervical length.

Ligament : A ligament is a band of fibrous tissue that connects bone to bone.  It is different from tendon, which connect muscle to bone.  Ligaments cannot contract but are usually present to stabilize joints.  I hope this helps!

: Ligaments do not really stretch that much . They typically are just a specific length with very little stretching capabililty. However, prior to childbirth, the hormone relaxin present in the body at that time allows the ligaments of the pelvic area to stretch and this is beneficial for birthing a child.
