Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide): Side effects of Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) include: blood dyscrasias, 
agranulocytosis, hepatic impairment, jaundice, withdrawal, heat stroke, toxic psychosis, anaphylactic runs, drowsiness, ataxia, confusion, dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary hesitancy, constipation, skin eruptions, edema, menstrual irregularities, nausea, altered libido and extra pyramidal symptoms.

i have been diagnosed with gastritis and prescribed trustan and librax. i have a terrible headache. what can i take to help? my dr said no antiinflams

Gastritis: Both medications are appropriate and can be used to treat gastritis and ulcer disease. Definitely no NSAID's this group will make it worse and increase the risk of ulcer. I would not add anything more - but avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking etc.. Eat bland foods. There are no immediate results as it takes time.

Abdominal pain: Usually librax is used with suspected irritable bowel syndrome. If that is the diagnosis then there are several options available based on the kind of ibs you have whether predominantly diarrhea or constipation or mixed. You can always try pure antispasmodics with an anxiety medication on the side that is non dependence causing like sertraline. You can also consult a gastroenterologist.

Not Really: Take the medicine before meals. Caution: do not abruptly discontinue after prolonged use; taper dose gradually. You should see your family practice physician if you have specific questions.

No weed: Smoking cannabis will only add to your problems. MJ is a psychoactive drug and it messes with your brain.

What kind of bad?: Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) is a very old (and in my opinion obsolete and irrational) drug, containing a tranquilizer (since the thought is people with irritable bowel symptoms are all anxious) and an antispasmodic. Both can cause significant side effects, including constipation, urinary retention, excessive sedation, slow heart rate, dizziness and lightheadedness.   There are better treatments for IBS.
