Brand of thyroid med: Levoxyl is a brand name of levothyroxine, a synthetic form of thyroid hormone, specifically t4.  It is used primarily to treat hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid condition.  It is considered thyroid replacement for when the thyroid gland doesn't make adequate thyroid hormone for the body's metabolic needs.  There are some other, less common uses for levoxyl.

Usually not: Usually not, unless the medication caused the eye to be more dry.  More likely it is dry due to the environment or the thyroid condition it's self.  It is possible you are developing graves ophthalmopathy (a condition associated with thyroid problems).

If : If by metabolism, you mean can you lose weight by exercising and eating fewer calories, yes your body can produce this kind of metabolism your body can't produce more thyroid hormone, but thyroid is only part of the metabolism and your Levoxyl (thyroxine) is taking care of that part.

Get thyroid checked: There are differences between brands, and your blood levels may have changed with the switch to synthroid (thyroxine).  Best to get your thyroid blood levels checked.

No: One decides dose by lab tests ;

this is because weight gain/loss due to thousand other issues

so if thyroid lab ok, need to look for other causes of weight issue.

Same med: You can consider synthroid to be the brand name and Levoxyl (thyroxine) the generic name of the same medicine. They are interchangeable, and you should notice no difference at all in the effect of your medication (change). Often times, if i write for synthroid but then sign on the line that says "substitution permitted, " the patient is dispensed Levoxyl (thyroxine) at the pharmacy. No problem.

None: Hi. No withdrawal symptoms...only the return of the hypothyroidism symptoms it was presumably treating!

No: If you need thyroxine (of which Levoxyl is just one brand) because you are hypothyroid in this country you need thyroxine.

Both work: They are both used for thyroid deficiency.Sunthroid is brand name medicine and Levoxyl (thyroxine) is a different brand name.The both do the same thing ie correct thyroid deficiency.Both work.

how do you know if your equilebrum is off and what do you do for it? i take levoxyl (thyroxine) daily but seem like my balance is not always there

Most : Most people with dysequilibrium problems feel that the room is moving or that they are off balance.  This should not be related to levoxyl (thyroxine).  If you are having dysequilibrium problems, or have any other neurologic symptoms such as weakness, numbness, vomiting or headache then you must be seen immediately and evaluated.
