side of foot and going up leg. know calf is hurting like a charlie horse. my right eyelid is swollen too.

Ankle injury: I fear that the extensive bruising indicates a torn ankle ligament. To avoid permanent or chronic ankle damage, see an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation and treatment. Calf pain may be secondary to abnormal walking since your injury but get checked for phlebitis. Swelling of eyelid is unrelated but get it checked. Elevate your ankle and ice it until you're seen.

Could be a blood clo: This needs  immediate evaluation. This coud be a blood clot. Please  contact your physician  now. It may be a different cause but you need to get  evaluated.

Possibly.: If the muscle tissue there tears, it can bleed under the skin, and then eventually bruise. It should clear itself up in a couple of weeks.

Blood clot: You should be evaluated for blood clots in your veins. While the one you can see on the surface usually isn't a problem there can be deep clots that triggered that superficial clot.

Water & stretches: Are you drinking your 2-3qts of water each day? Do you stretch before you walk your 15 min each day? If not, give it a try. If so, check in with your doc.

Most likely muscle: Pull or tear. However, one of the worrisome things about injuring your calf, when the pain keeps getting worse and worse, is that it could be compartment syndrome. If the calf feels very tight, pale, loose pulses in feet, then get to a doctor. Other possibility is that you herniated a disc and caused a radiculopathy or irritation a nerve from your back. Will also need to see a physician for this.

i get up 2 to 3 times woken up with horrible charlie horse in my calf. my calf & lower leg is so hard & painful. what can i do or take so i can get good night sleep?

: Not clear, based upon your  post, that you have confirmed musculoskeletal causes, and I would be concerned about a potential  thrombophlebitis in your leg.  Suggest a visit to an ER or urgent care center and, at the  least, a non-invasive ultrasound study to assess potential blood clot.  This could evolve into an embolism, so, do NOT  delay your assessment.

hello. i experience charlie horses pretty frequently. i feel it is because i drink alot of soda, and not enough water and powerade. i had a charlie horse that lasted possibly 10 minutes. the pain is gone, my leg looks and feels completely normal too ?

It's not the soda.: Charlie horses are common and painful! But they are not dangerous. It never hurts to drink less soda and more water. There is not a lot of good research out there about what really causes these random tight calf muscle spasms. In my experience one of the most helpful treatments is regular stretching of the calf muscles throughout the day, and especially at bedtime!

Get to the ER: You don't say why you are on prednisone.  You could have a new compression fracture in your spine.   Your electrolytes could be off. Not being able to stand up is a bit of a deal breaker and makes this an emergency.
