Left testis pain: While there are numerous possible causes of scrotal and testicular pain and discomfort, a common one, especially on the left side, would be a varicocele.  These dilated varicose veins often begin aching late in the day when you have been on your feet for long periods and are improved by elevation of the feet.  See your physician and be examined to determine the cause.

See below: Minor variations in size r usually normal. Marked difference in size should be checked out by urologist for varicocele or hydrocele. Also see doc if pain in testes or swollen, red, hot, painful.

: You should let us know about your pain such as the duration, any swelling or redness of the scrotum and if both testicles hurt at the same time. Have you participated in any sport or riding? Are you at risk of sexual transmitted disease? In general, testicular inflammation (orchitis) by viral or bacterial infection is probably the most common cause of bilateral testicular or scrotal pain.

Maybe a hernia: You should be examined by a doctor to see if you have an inguinal hernia. These are usually repaired surgically by a general surgeon. Hope this helps!

my husband has just had a scan on his testicles. the results came in at 7ml left and 8ml right. is that normal size for an adult male?

No, it is not.: 8 milliliters is very small for a testicle. It is possible that some other measuring unit than milliliters was used. Be sure to follow up with the  doctor who ordered the scan and get the full report and interpretation.

Yes: That is normal.  It is also normal for one testicle to be higher than the other when everything is relaxed.

Testes: Testicles move up and down in the scrotum with temperature changes. This sounds like a normal variation.

No: There is a thin septum in the middle of the scrotum that prevents testicle swapping. Even when one looks in the mirror, the right is still on the right, and the left is still on the left.

Testicle pain: Pain in testicles can be from primary testicular problem such as epididimytis, orchitis, scrotal infection. Pain from the groin can refer to to the scrotum so kidney stone or hernia can be causes for referred pain to the testicles.
