my right anterior temporal lobe is atrophied (approx. 40 mm in size). how common is this for someone in their 40's and what issues could it cause.

Not common: As the age increases , cerebral atrophy is common .However , isolated temporal atrophy at the age  of 40 is something that needs further evaluated . You might have neuropsychological test to see if there is any impairment in your memory , executive functions etc.

Vascular disease: Atrophy means the brain is shrinking or aging inappropriately.  Get in a good physicians care for definitive diagnosis and treatment. Make sure you are on a well balanced diet.

i had a non-contrast mri by end 2017 and the result was mild bilateral temporal lobe atrophy for patient's stated age, otherwise everything is normal. it was very mild, not disease specific. i got freaked and did not follow-up. should i worry?

: More information is needed. This is not answered by reading the results of the MRI alone, but asking for example why was a brain mRI ordered. See your doctor who can see the entire picture.

Depends!!: Some mild degree of atrophy occurs in seizure disorders and may not be symptomatic with the combination you mentioned a visit to a neurologist is in order.Restless leg syndrome may or may not be relevant ?!

Loss of brain cells: Cerebral atrophy is a loss of brain cells or neurons and their connections.  Some atrophy occurs naturally with aging but more rapid loss is seen with dementia or with a stroke.  The frontal and temporal lobes are especially involved with mood and emotions and less so with motor activity. Cerebral atrophy is a non specific finding and does not explain dizziness.

: She needs to see a neurologist for co-relation of her signs and symptoms with the PET scan findings- which sometimes do not co-relate. wish her well

Sounds right: The MRI will show if there is a structural cause for your symptoms. However, not all people with epilepsy have something structurally wrong with their brains. Instead, there is an electrical problem. Your doctor will probably perform and eeg to evaluate the electrical signals traveling through your brain.

Conduction system pr: Part of the conduction system of the heart doesn't work.  If more fascicles are blocked, you are at risk of needing a pacemaker.  More important is the cause. Is there a blocked artery or weak heart muscle (aka cardiomyopathy?)  generally these won't be a problem as long as you know why you have it. You should see a doctor.

No: Left anterior hemiblock is an ekg finding that indicates an electrical abnormality of the anterior portion of the left bundle branch. The left bundle branch is specialized nerve tissue that allows the cardiac electrical impulse to travel through the left ventricle causing muscular contraction of the heart. Left anterior hemiblock is common but does not cause palpitations. Another cause is likely.
