how long does it take for one dose of fluconazole to leave your system? i take atorvastatin. should i stop it for a little bit before taking fluconazole? if so, for how long?

Minimal interaction: Fluconazole is quite long lasting, 4-5 days before gone. It can slightly elevate blood levels of atorvastatin, but usually without symptoms unless you are unusually sensitive. If you have had muscle aching or abnormal blood tests from atorvastatin, check with your doctor before taking fluconazole. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

You don't: need to take excessive liquids, assuming normal kidney function, 90% will be eliminated in 48 hours and essentially all of it by 72 hours. Increasing your hydration may speed it up a little, but there is no medical need to do so.

Highly unlikely;: Highly unlikely from a single event, but how much and how often you drink, what other medicines you take, genetic predisposition, and current health state of your liver all impact the result.   Any concerns:  Nausea, vomiting, yellowish hue to eyes or skin, see  your provider for a check up.

Marijuana : Marijuana is detected by  checking for  it's metabolite: tetrahydrocannabinol.     If  your husband has only smoked it once,  it's metabolites will probably stop showing up in urine within a week.

He has not stopped: If he is having cannabis showing in his tests, either the tests are inaccurate or he is still smoking or doing pot in some other manner.  Doctors may be prescribing this for him.

No, not lymphatic: The liver is part of the digestive system. It makes bile, which flows through the bile duct into the small intestine to help digest fats. The liver also does many other important functions, and is necessary for life (one cannot survive without a liver).

Autoimmune hepatitis: we are not yet aware of the cause of autoimmune hepatitis. It's manifested by autoantibodies against the liver, manufactured by your own immune system. It can be a very aggressive disease, but often is very slow in its onset and its progression. Also, it is treatable, although some of the medicines can have side effects. It is vital that you are treated by a gastroenterologist . Good luck.

Yes: Toxic shock syndrome (tss) is caused by bacteria, usually staph or strep, which release a chemical that affects the immune system.  Fever, rash, low blood pressure and confusion are common symptoms.  This very serious illness can progress to multiple organ failure, including the kidneys and liver. Tss is treated with antibiotics and support. If you suspect tss see your doctor immediately.
