Late onset Strep: In terms of INFANTS, late onset Group B Strep is an infection that infants develop from one week to 3 months after birth, presumably from being birthed from a Group B Strep untreated mother.  This infection causes serious blood and spinal fluid infections.   In older children and adults, you may be referring to being  Group A Strep carrier, in which chronic subclinical infection is present.

Silent:: abnormal antibody tests, abnormal intestinal biopsy nut no signs or symptoms even on gluten diet. Can develop signs/symptoms later in life.

Differences: Acute = you get infected and shortly after, get sick

Latent = you get it, sometimes will get sick, you get over the illness but the pathogen remains dormant in your body. If your immune systems weakens, you may get sick again as a result of the dormancy instead of new exposure.

Chronic = there is always active infection. It's always causing low level injury.

Every 6 months: Latent Syphilis is usually treated with Benzathine Penicillin G, administered as three doses of 2.4 million units intramuscularly each at one-week intervals. 

After treatment, follow-up blood testing is usually done every 6 months for 24 months.

Need chest X-ray: Positive TB skin test simply means tested person was exposed to an active case of tb.  If the person remains asymptomatic (free of active disease signs, e.g., weight loss, night sweat, cough, etc) with negative chest x-ray, he (she) has a latent tb.

is toxoplasmosis (even latent) curable?

Yes: If you are a generally healthy person in most cases there is no treatment necessary for toxoplasmosis unless your symptoms are severe or very persistent. When treatment is chosen pyrimethamine combined with either sulfadiazine or clindamycin is prescribed. Folinic acid is also prescribed to help prevent side effects from pyrimethamine. Yes: When you have latent tb, you can take medications--usually Isoniazid (inh) for 9 months--to eliminate the bacteria and prevent active tb.  However, not everyone with latent TB is supposed to be treated.  Indications depend on your age, underlying conditions, whether the infection is recent or remote, size of the skin test reaction, etc.  Talk to your doctor.
