21 weeks pregnant.  no morning sickness (ms) in first trimester; however, past three weeks, i have been nauseated, experienced loss appetite, and upset stomach. can i be experiencing late onset ms?

Can happen: However, make sure you are gaining weight, staying hydrated, don't have reflux that may be causing your symptoms, also if going on for three weeks, may consider taking anti-nausea medication

Summary: MS is an autoimmune disorder which affects, brain, spinal cord, and eyes.  The most common type is relapsing/remitting, but also primary progressive, secondary progressive, relapsing progressive, and benign.  CIS is an initial phase usually of relapsing/remitting, and RIS is finding MS activity on an MRI prior to the disease presenting clinically.

Similar but not same: Both multiple sclerosis and cidp are demyelinating diseases of the nervous system that can have recurrent relapses. Cidp affects the peripheral nervous system and multiple sclerosis affects the central nervous system. The diseases have different clinical signs, . In general, behavioral and cognitive problems are not seen in peripheral nervous system disorders. Discuss with your doctor your concerns.

is it ever possible for someone with devics disease (nmo), to have the kind of geospatial issues which cause them to walk into furniture and straddle lanes when driving (driving with 2 wheels in one lane and 2 wheels in another)? or would this be ms?

Could be anything!!: Geospatial issues can be from any lesion of the temporal-parietal circuitry.  Sure it can happen from MS, but can also occur with stroke and brain tumor as well.  Sometimes NMO and MS have overlapping features and you need a good neurologist to examine you and look at your MRIs to get a sense of which one might be the case.

Possibly, but: Do you have confirmed diagnosis of MS?  I suspect not based on your profile, so search for alternative explanation.

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily: We have three oral agents, each as potent, or more potent, than the injectables, but each has it's own risk and adverse effect profiles.  The two most potent meds on the market are tysabri, (natalizumab) followed by gilenya.  Tysabri (natalizumab) is a once monthly infusion, and gilenya, oral once daily.
