Need examination: This is one of those questions that requires an examination by a doctor. There are so many possibilities. Without an examination it's hard to say what it is. A small cyst or folliculitis  is what it sounds like but an Obgyn will need to see it to determine the next steps. Best to : Have it looked at and get treated if it is an infection. It is possible you could have a boil, an abscess , a cyst. In meantime , you can take any pain reliever meds for comfort.

i noticed that, to the opening of my vagina to the right side the vaginal lip seemed significantly larger than the left lip. is this normal?

Possible infection: Check with your gynecologist to make sure you dont have an infection of your vaginal glands.

Use: Use warm compress and if gets whitehead on it then sterilize pin over match or candle flame. You can puncture and drain lesion with sterilized pin. Otherwise you will need biopsy by doctor to get rid of the lesion.

i have an abscess the left side of my vagina (where underwear sits) i seen dr & got antibiotics it is just growing larger i am also 21 weeks pregnant ?

Need I&D: If you have an abscess antibiotic treatment alone will not cure it.  If it's getting larger you need to have it incised and drained for cure.

Yes : Under normal circumstances it should feel same until unless there is any cyst or hematoma on one side

Not worried,get eval: There r cysts that develop on the vaginal wall that do need eval. So c ur gyn. Some need excision, but if small not infected & asymptomatic & not enlarging it may not need rx, but u must c ur hyn.

Various causes : There are a variety of causes and an exam is needed to confirm. If it comes and goes herpes infections are one possibility. Yeast infections are another. After menopause estrogen deficiency could be the cause. Contact irritants and allergic reactions can do this. Certain skin disorders like lichen sclerosis and lichen simplex chronicus are possibilities.

Spasm: The uterus can spasm anytime during the month causing this kind of pain. Also, there are pelvic muscles that can spasm as well as the bladder or rectum all of which can radiate pain to the sides of the pelvis.   If this continues, you may need a pelvic examination to see if you can isolate the cause. But, since these come and go quickly, they are hard to isolate.
