Hives: Without seeing the welts, i presume they are hives which can often be controlled with antihistamine.   There are however many causes for hives and not uncommonly, no cause can be found despite exhaustive studies. See your doctor especially if the hives have persisted more than 6 weeks.

Skin disease: Although allergic reactions may be due to food or medication allergies,  certain common detergents also produce itching with "welts" in areas of perspiration.  Change to Ivory Snow, which is not usually associated with this kind of skin reaction.  Even after many years of using the same detergent, "delayed hypersensitivity" can cause reactions. If no help, see a dermatologist.

? Urticaria: Acute urticaris can present as such, most of time no reason can be found if we exclude a reaction to food, drug or garment. At times there could be a hidden fungal skin infection some where, under breasts or somewhere else, oral antihistamines  OTC  can help if taken regularly, read the labels carefully, if no improvement see your doctor for assessment, good luck

No, but...: It could be due to the blood pressure meds he's taking. What you're describing could be unrelated, but it could also be a side effect of certain meds, particularly Hydralazine which is often used for BP treatment.

URTI with urticaria: It appears that you have an infectious process (probably viral) but it could be due other organisms. Some of these infections do lead to urticaria (which is probably causing the rash on your body). You need to see a physician

Many things cause: welts or urticaria. to really find out you need to keep both a food diary and product diary (what goes in your body and what goes on your body) but even then 1/2 the time we don't actually find out the cause

Possibly: Dryer sheets are known to irritate skin, but before you blame the allergy on the sheets, try to investigate if food, wool, perfume, or insect bites including bed bugs could be the culprits.

Not really.: Exercise can cause "cholinergic uritcaria." but this usually occurs after exercise and does not persists for more than a few hours. Your diet would not causes this unless you are ingesting a food you have mild allergies to, which previously was not eaten. Otherwise, this may be unrelated and a completely new issue. Try some otc zantac (ranitidine) 75mg twice daily with one geexneric zyrtec 10mg/day. See your d.

: Hives can be difficult, because a million things can cause them, and it can be a real chore to figure out what is causing yours.  You need to do some detective work -- what did you eat right before the most recent outbreak? Any new medicines or vitamins? Have you been sick? A dermatologist would be your best option if this has been going on for several months.
