i got bitten by my dog two days ago on my wrist and it didn't seem to break skin. i applied neosporin to the area just to be safe. last night i noticed a hard bump not unlike a big bug bite in the area. do i need to see a doctor or will it go away?

Hard to know: Bruising is common with mosquito stings.Right after being bitten by a mosquito you may develop a soft white bump than later transitions into a hard, brown (reddish-brown) or a blister or bruising. There may be itching &amp; swelling around the lesion.

Variable: As long as the swelling does not represent an abscess, the redness should resolve within 7-10 days. Avoid scratching it. Keep it clean and apply a 1% hydrocortisone cream. If the area becomes painful or hot or is enlarging in size think of infection and see your doctor about an antibiotic or drainage.
