Maybe shaving?: Some people do have darkening of the hair follicles following repeated shaving. Frequent, close-shaving causes minor trauma to the hair follicles and some folks can be sensitive to this, hence getting darker pores/follicles. If you stop shaving for an extended period of time, likely it will improve. Laser treatment /hair removal may help. Consult doc. Good luck.

Many possibilities: There are many things that may cause a discoloration of the skin. Cause may be genetic or environmental. Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, sun exposure, insect bites, allergic reactions, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause a discoloration of the skin.  Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Possible: If you have SLE ( systemic lupus erythematosus) then you must know that SLE can affect many different organs and very feequently the skin. The rash of SLE is photosensitive and typically describe as "butterfly rash" on your face, but SLE is known for many other dermatologic manifestations. You should ask your rheumatologist and if in doubt dermatologis can help sometimes with a skin biopsy.

Try different things: I would try a different razor, then try different creams and use a lotion. Use lots of moisturizes afterwards.

See a doctor: You likely have an infection.  I would recommend seeing a doctor.  Probably need an antibiotic.

Alpha-hydroxy acid: Otc products containing alpha-hydroxy acid (aha) or glycolic acid or beta-hydroxy acid (bha) or salicylic acid or Lactic Acid or urea can help to minimize pores.  A longer term solution is doing laser hair removal which destroys the hair follicle which makes the pores appear much lessened and helps the skin become smoother.

Folliculitis: Shaving with a dull razor or shaving without lubricant can cause the base of the hairs to get pulled slightly out of the shaft, causing redness and irritation.  Using hypoallergenic soaps or shave creams and applying moisturizers after shaving can help reduce this.
