i had laparoscopic surgery a week ago. now theres a tiny bump next to my belly button incision its painful. should i be concerned or just healing?

Surgery: Although this will probably turn out to be nothing worrisome, a good rule of thumb is that anytime something unexpected happens after a surgery, you should talk to the surgeon who performed the procedure. This will often prevent complications. Don't delay. Call him or her now. Good luck.

Depends: How long after surgery is it? Could be an infection but if it's clear and does not smell, it should be OK. I would see your surgeon just to make sure.

i had laproscopic appendicectomy 2 weeks ago but while i am urinating i am feeling mild pain at the right side of abdomen but my incision is at left side of the abdomen and while pressing right abdomen i am feeling mild pain is this normal in healing?

Not needed.: Betadine may dry out the skin. I advise simply using your usual soap and water to clean the wounds.

one of my laparoscopy incisions opened 12 days post operation....surgeon says it will grow back together, should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Wound healing: After surgery is variable. Depends on overall health, diabetes or not, obesity or not, cigarette smoking or not, etc. As long as there is no sign of wound infection, then you would watch the healing &it will close on its own. Would not re-suture a wound at this stage for concern of causing an infection. Wash with soap &water gently and light bandaid with neosporin of alright with your surgeon.

Discuss with surgeon: The lump next to your laparoscopic trocar incision may represent just how the wound was closed, a small hematoma or seroma, or an incisional hernia. It would be best to have the surgeon who did the operation examine you and give his/her opinion.

i have a haematoma after laparoscopy its right side between incision and belly button shud i be worried ?

Some times happens: after surgery due to oozing of blood under the skin will disappear in 2 wks with block and blue marks                   ( ecchymosis )  Don't worry go for post OP visit

i'm 9 days post laparoscopy and still have swelling and pain right side of abdomen what could this be? hurts to sit and stand. incisions are ok

Depends on procedure: This can be a multitude of things depending on the procedure and the size of ports used.  Muscle pain and swelling are quite common although i would expect it to be improving each day.  Bruising/hematoma/abscess or something intraabdominal are other causes especially in appendectomy/cholecystectomy or others.

i had laparoscopy surgery 3 weeks ago, why is my incision dented in and why does it have a burning pain inside where the incision is when i move?

In few  will clear: The ' dented in '  , body molds itself , if you have burning pain  , go to your doctor for follow up visit to make there is wound infection.

had laparoscopy 9 weeks ago and my bruising is faded but definitely still there!no pain, incision looks "shiny" like it hasn't completely healed!help!

Accepted Answer

Not unusual: Probably still some edema- fluid in tissue.
Concern would be redness, increasing pain, more swelling, warmth.
