: If the "42 day cycle " is a regular occurence, it is possibly "normal" for you.  If this cycle is rare or only occasional, stress can delay ovulation (job, school, emotional) which will delay onset of menstruation.  Ask your gyn provider about low dose oral BCP's, which will cause cessation of ovarian function, and generally provide regular "periods", if taken punctually as directed.

Not quite: The leap year is just a calendar adjustment. There are leap years on the solar calendar (the regular one we all use; adds 1 extra February day in a leap year) and also on the lunar calendar (lunar leap years add 1 extra month). Because your body has no idea what calendar you are using, periods keep on their pattern regardless of calendar changes. You just have to get used to the new numerical day.

Yes, it's irregular: ...but it's very close to normal.  Menstrual cycles are considered normal if menses occur every 21 to 35 days. Yours are on the edge of this. The fact that it isn't exactly the same number of days is not of much concern, i.e. the irregularity is ok, but the length of the cycle is a little long. While not urgent, this is probably worth reviewing with your doctor. Stay well:)
