my 7 month old baby boy has been on novalac ar digest since he was 2 months old. 
due to this formula being so expensive, what can i use that wont constipate him?
not novalac it as he vomits, s26, similac, lactogen, isomil all dont work!

Hard to speculate: The Novalac AR digest is thickened &amp; has partially digested proteins that are meant to avoid milk allergy/intolerance. That is why it is so expensive. If he is not milk allergic, other formulas may be reasonable, but how he reacts to each will be unknown. You may just want to reduce formula to the 16 oz minimum needed for calcium intake &amp; push his other feeds to make up the difference.

is target up&up formula that's made to be similar to similac just as good as actual similac? if so, is it ok to alternate between the two?

Can't tell: In the US, name-brand formulas and generic formulas are all considered fine to drink. Individual babies may have specific preferences due to tummy issues or cow milk protein allergies. There is no way to tell if one formula is "as good" as another, or better, or worse. There is no standard definition of "as good", and there are rarely any side-by-side comparison studies (no Coke vs. Pepsi tests).

i accidentally bought the wrong kind of formula. i use similac pro advance, but mistakenly purchased pro sensitive. i only just noticed a mixup and cant return it now. can i give the pro sensitive to my baby for a couple days? is it safe?

: Yes. You should notice little if any difference in babies feeding or stool pattern. If anything it is designed to be gentler on the gut.

Normal vocal/stiff: Many infants have a large collection of noises they make with their airways. They really have no social conscience at all &amp; are not concerned that it bothers us.They also stiffen on occasion when pissed, or whatever, because they have little else that they can do.As they grow older they have more defined abilities that can be applied  to have have specific meanings

Depends: Formula is not paperclips. There can be minor differences in the ingredients that babies gut may deal with differently.This can result in changes in digestive patterns, cramping,loose stools,constipation etc.while switching back and forth. That said, some kids won't notice any difference and will do well,(or poorly) on one or both. Best find one that works and stick with it.

my wife gives our newborn premature similac bc some1 gave her a case of it for free and she doesnt wanna 'waste' it. is it safe for my baby to drink?

Depends: This depends on the level of prematurity.   If you said to me baby was a 36 week preemie, this would not be a big deal.   What did the NICU send you home on?  Similac is definitely safe, however, I want to say, since that is your primary concern.

Colic: the problem with babies who are colicky is that they tend to cry for a period of 3-4 hours at least 3-4 times per weeks. Colic can be treated with few methods, although not proven to be effective as documented in the literature. Try using probiotics. It helps to comfort the baby's stomach. Try massaging the baby's tummy. Also giving frequent baths. Change formula to spy formula might help.

Feeding issue? : Some children are cow's milk intolerant, because of course if you were meant to drink cow's milk you'd be born a cow. Gassiness, bloating, and stool changes are possible. Allergy to milk is also possible though less likely. Reflux is also less likely.  Discuss this with your peds at your next well check, and see what issue needs to be addressed.

Screening/weight : The reason for her poor weight gain should be investigated. The number of ounces per day can be kept as a record. Her height and weight chart may be reviewed by your pediatrician. Lab testing may include a thyroid panel, complete blood count and metabolic panel. Switch to whole fat cow's milk as tolerated or lactose free milk, a small amount of prune juice may help to relieve the symptoms.

3 days postpartum drinking 1 gallon of water and i am breastfeeding my baby boy but my breast milk combined with both breasts is only 2-2 1/2 oz and he is still hungry after. is it safe/okay to give him gentle-ease similac ready to feed right away?

: You can increase your supply by limiting the duration at each breast to 5 minutes, when baby extracts 80+ 
% of its content (its pushed out during letdown). Then feed at shorter intervals (like 2 hours while awake. In 2-4 days the kid should build a bigger supply and yor feeds will be more. Feeding formula so soon after birth can trigger an involuntary wean. Get help from a breast feed coach.
