Likely a cyst : It is possible that you have a small sebaceous cyst. These usually are asymptomatic unless they become infected or become really large. Also bartholin's cyst can occur near the entrance of the vagina. Cysts usually occur from blocked ducts causing secretions to build up. Best thing to do is to see your doctor if it does not improve or resolve in 2 weeks.

See gynecologist: You should see a gynecologist as soon as possible. It could just be an infected hair follicle but it could also be an std. It is always best to get it diagnosed by gyn so you can get the best treatment.

Allergy/trauma?: Determining the cause is an important clue to treatment.  In addition, a true allergy to topical creams, lotions, lubricants or even latex may cause itching. Inadequate lubrication with excessive trauma may also cause shear injury with itching. Please also consider the possibility of stds.  Discuss with your gynecologist.

hello about two days ago i started feeling an itchy that was not accompanied by pain in one side of my labia minora and after examining in a mirror i see that onside of my labia minora is swollen. i have tried cold compress but it is still swollen?

: It could be from local irritation or a  an insect bite. If the area is not red then use some OTC benadryl or cortsone cream on the area. If it does not get better in a couple of days the you will have to be seen by your MD

Infection?: Despite no sex, you may still get a minor infection, even a minor yeast infection may cause this.  See the Dr. if it persists. best wishes.

Vaginitis: If you are sexually active and had similar symptoms before, it may be herpes.  If it is only on one side, comes and goes and isn't painful, it could be a bartholin's  cyst or sebaceous cyst. You should see a doctor to get this checked out.

Itchy swollen labia: Seek medical attention this week. May be yeast infection, cyst( Bartolins). Bacterial vaginosis , Trichamonas can also cause itching as can chemicals used in douching. Also at times a vaginal yeast infection  is associated with  new onset diabetes. Avoid chemicals, use simple, castile  soap  try sitz baths and seek medical attention this week.

Ouch: Sounds very uncomfortable. Please see a doctor for an exam and some good help, after "months" you need a diagnosis on the redness/itching before trying further treatment.

See Gyn Doc.: Best to be seen by your gyn physician for examination, accurate diagnosis ( may require cultures)  an appropriate treatment. Best not to “self treat”.
