Energy: Please start w/a visit to your doctor to rule out any metabolic disorders.  Then reflect on your lifestyle and stress level.  How is your diet?  Junk food? Sugar?  Do you exercise?  Brisk walking is fine.  Beware of energy drinks and false energy via coffee loading.  You will crash later.  Please take a holistic approach.  Theanine in tea can keep you relaxed yet focused. Medication: I have no idea what that medication is or why you are not on it now.  Your best bet is to see your doctor.  If it is a controlled medicine then there are probably good reasons for you not to be on it.  If it is not  I apologise.

OTC lubricants: Most dry eye can be handled with over the counter (otc) lubricating drops.  Do not use the ones that say "gets the red out" as these are drying.  Plain eye ointment at night is also helpful.  For persistent eye dryness especially if the vision is impaired, see your ophthalmologist.

Addiction?: If you man pain or psychiatric medications, then we must include your personalities. Do you have an addictive personality? Do you smoke and can't quit, drink and can't stop, take pain meds for the "high"? These should be discussed with your physician. If you are a hypertensive, diabetic, etc and must rely on medications for health reasons alone, then you should not worry. Italk to your md.
