i was flipping chairs and my wrist popped and now it's swollen near the bone part and hurts from like my pinky to my elbow. what could be wrong?

Sprain v fracture v : Flipping chairs? Any numbness or tingling? Weakness? Bruising? Off the cuff, you could have sustained anything from sprain to dislocation to fracture. In this situation, best to go see doctor (urgent care will do) to get xray to (dis)prove fracture. While waiting to see doc, remember rice: rest, ice, compression & elevation. Good luck!

See details: Everything else you mentioned is unrelated to the wrist. The most common cause of wrist pain by far in mothers of newborns is a dequervains tendinitis. This often resolves with a local cortisone injection.

Need more info: How did you injure it. Is there any bruising?? The swelling is NOT normal and a repeat x ray or advanced imaging CT/MRI might very well be indicated!

Need doctor's advice: It is not clear as to the injury but the wrist can be the starting point and the swelling can occur from limited use. Need to be evaluated for the entire arm and see if xrays are necessary and best treatment.

Angioedema: There can be many reasons for the swelling you describe ranging from an allergic reaction to food or medicine; it may be due to an autoimmune release of histamine; or it may be due to an inflammatory mediator called bradykinin.  It's important to know the underlying cause as it will change treatment.  How long has it been there? has it happened before? Do you have hives? Have you tried any meds?

Adipose tissue: It is probably a fat of dermoid  cyst which are harmless. It it gets bigger or start interfering with wrist movements, you can get it removed for s minor procedure. Otherwise leave it alone and let your PMD check it on your next physical for any additional thoughts.

Urticaria and Edema: Known as urticaria (hives) and angioedema. Many things can cause but it really is best to see an allergist to have them obtain a detailed history, consider labs and/or testing, and prescribe appropriate therapy.
