Yes: The total effects of bgh in kids or adults is unknown, but it is suspected that it may increase risk for hormone disturbance in children among other issues.  Best to avoid if able.

Not usually: but "possible" since the exact nature of this relatively rare disorder is unknown!

Accepted Answer

Too strong...: A major hypothesis in the medical community is that a germ - free environment at a young age, doen't allow the child's immune system to"calibrate" itself to an infection later in life. Subsequently,  when the immune system activates itself to an infection later in life, it goes "overboard", leading to damage to one's  body ("auto-immune" response)  as seen with asthma and inflammatory bowel dis.

is continuous (once or twice daily) use of deet free insect repellent on kids under 8 years age harmless or there are any side effects from long term use?

Accepted Answer

: Without knowing the contents of the repellant you plan to use it is difficult to comment on how safe they are. Some contain flower fragrances that attract bees &amp; others may contain chemicals that are dangerous to some. The more specific data you provide when you post a question the more likely we are to provide a reasoned response.

whats the deal with flouride? why do water bottles made "safe" for young children now say "with natural flouride?" arent we supposed to keep them flouride "free?"

Fluoride helps teeth: Fluoride in excessive amounts is not healthy, but in proper levels will build stronger teeth for kids of any age. While distilled water has none, most natural waters & city water supplies have the proper amount.

is baby carrots and fat-free ranch dressing a healthy snack for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes: This is pretty good for anyone including kids.  Another healthy snack is popcorn as long as it isn't doused in butter or overloaded with salt.

both of my kids are grown and now i have so much free time on my hands, what should i do?

Accepted Answer

Feeling purposeful: With an "empty nest, " many start to notice more free time.  It is important to continue feeling purposeful; initially with raising two children, now with giving back to the community or other volunteer activities.  Some ideas include volunteering at a local hospital or nursing home, reading to kids at school or a public library, using your skills at a local non-profit organizations, etc.

hi, i have a child that is 25 months old and has been struggling with body odour, especially her underarms. we've been using fragrance free deodorant but it isn't working. i'm not sure if this is medical?

Have the kid seen: This is not normal &amp; may reflect on treatable medical issues. I would have the kid seen by a pediatrician and testing done.

hi. i have a family of 5. of that 3 of us have tested positive for covid and self isolated at home. it will be 14 days soon. do we have to retest to see if we are free of covid. also do i need to test my other 2 kids incase they contracted the virus?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If any household member is still positive, please continue to self isolate. Your children who have not been tested may also be screened. Watch for Vomiting and Diarrhea since these are common COVID 19 symptoms among children. Watch for fever, shortness of breath and prolonged cough. Use children's Tylenol to treat fever if it occurs, provide fluids and good nutrition. Please follow up. Repeat test

how helpful are free sporting activities for children, in cutting obesity?

Incredibly helpful: Any physical activity is helpful for a healthy lifestyle.  Sporting activities aren't for every child but many children find them more fun than other forms of exercise.  If you can find free sporting activities then please take advantage of them.  What children eat and drink are also critical, but exercise is a huge part of a healthy weight.
