i have pain inside penis, but it's not all the time and it happens randomly. did urinalysis and they found nonhemo in urine. is it kidney failure??

Accepted Answer

No: Inability to make any urine would suggest kidney failure. Why you would think phantom pains in the penis would be related is confusing. It is a sensitive organ &amp; why you have a discomfort on occasion is not clear, but kidney failure is not part of the picture.

Can you pee?: If you can urinate as usual, it is unlikely to be stone in or near the meatus/opening of the urethra.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.

Here are some...: The thread or string attached to ureteral stent is designed to pull the stent in 3-7 days by the patient or family as instructed or by professionals without out through cystoscopy. So please follow instructions from your urologist; if still in doubt, contact her/him. Clinically, you are expected to feel some change in the way you voids or some pain at the end of urination.

DJ stent: You are supposed to pull out the stent by pulling the strings. This is done when the DJ stent is inserted for a short duration. Your urologist should have explained that to you.

Unclear: You may be passing the stones or stone fragments through the penis.  Alternatively you could have a urinary tract infection.  Does it hurt when you urinate?  If you have a urinary tract infection and "blocking" stones, this could be an emergency.  Best to consult your urologist.  If you get a fever &gt;100.4 f, go directly to emergency room.

Stones: 3 mm or less have greater than 75% chance of passage, above 5 mm drops below 50%....Penis isn't the problem usually, problem is getting to bladder from kidney...Pain from blocked kidney.

Stone moving: If given an rx to enlarge ureters/urethra--be sure you are taking it. Use your pain med, hydrate well to encourage passage. If made it to bladder, should pass on own (and will only appear as grain of sand, despite amount of pain it caused on way out). May have some urinary bleeding, ok as long as stops after few hrs. If severe pain / vomiting / can't pee -- go to er.
