Infection unlikely: While it is possible to get infected from improperly grown sprouts, they have wonderful health benefits and the risks are minimal if some basic safety guidelines, such as buying seeds approved by the international sprout growers association, are followed. Very rare: If you mean a bacterial infection in the vagina, it would be highly unlikely for this to proceed to sepsis, which is a serious infection of the bloodstream.

Unfortunately No: For many infections either by bacteria or by viruses, one can take blood, or body fluid (such as sputum, urine) or tissue (such as a biopsy), and culture them in the lab, or use a test to show us any evidence of a particular bacteria or virus. But all these tests are done in a lab. You cannot usually tell if a given infection is caused by which, though a viral infection is usually self-limiting.

VRE?: I am assuming you are talking about vre; vre infections are not common overall, and the presence of vre in the stool simply means the person is colonized with it (and has likely been exposed to vancomycin, selecting for its growth).  Vre + stool requires no treatment.

Immune dysfunction: Neutrophils, one of our body's predominant infection fighting white blood cells, are primarily responsible for fighting fungal infections.  Anything that affects neutrophil function or production, be it genetics, leukemia, chemo or other immunosuppression, or just diabetes, can make you more susceptible to fungal infections.  Also, advanced hiv/aids patients are very susceptible to infection.

From anyone.: Rotavirus is a highly contagious disease. Can be spread anywhere, but more often in crowded situations, such as day cares and schools. Good handwashing and staying away from the sick are the only effective measures. Antibiotics do not work here.

Coitus assoc UTI: Infections can be transmitted through intercourse since there is mechanical trauma in a non sterile area. This may be more common w/uncircumcised males har boring bacteria.   Bacteria travel by 'brownian movement' up the urethra (urine outlet). It is not uncommon for women to have 'honey moon' cystitis after sex.  In those w/ frequent recurrences, your doc may prescribe 'prophylactic antibiotics'.

Warm moist areas: A fungal skin infection is more likely to occur on warm, moist parts of the body such as the armpits, the groin, and in between the toes. Candidal yeast infections can occur on the skin, or in the mouth or vagina. Fungi can be found on moist areas like locker room floors, so athlete's foot infections can start from contact with fungi on floors or on other people's footwear.
