Tension reducer: The stern strips will not help with scar formation or reduction what they do is act kind of like the tape on a package that has the string mixed into the glue. The stress are placed along the incision and perpendicular to the incision. They reduce the pull of you skin and body on the incision which is really being held closed by surtures and or staples
