Depends: Keflex is a cephalosporin type antibiotic, which is rather broad spectrum. It can be bacteriostatic (knocks them down) or bacteriocidal (kills them-bacteria). I do not know how long you have been taking it, but a full course of 7 days needs to be taken. If not better by then, a culture and sensitivity test should be done to find the appropriate drug for a full cure.

7-10 days: Antibiotics such as Keflex can work in 7-10 days sometimes shorter-  it is important to complete the course of therapy prescribed for you in order to completely eradicate the infection.  Symptoms often go away prior to completion- but take them all to avoid a repeat infection or a resistant infection which is much more difficult to treat.

Bacteria sensitivity: This may depend in part on how the sensitivity testing is done and whether it has levels suitable for UTI measured. Since cephalexin (Keflex) has higher concentrations in the urine than in the blood it may be quite effective for UTI despite the "intermediate" sensitivity. Good luck.

Not Dangerous: To get the desired effect from Keflex, or any other antibiotic, it is important to take it close to the interval prescribed. If you do so the medicine will reach the blood concentration needed to treat your infection. Make it a point to take the medicine on a schedule but don't be worried if you take it a little earlier or later than the exact time. Call the doctor if your symptoms are not better.

how far apart can you take keflex...my dr. told me to take them every 6 hrs 4 times a day but i'm sleeping part of the time and that messes me up ?

Four times daily: Rather than set an alarm to take medication exactly every 6hrs, space out your meds so that you end up taking 4x/d while awake, say 1st time upon waking up, 2nd time around lunch, 3rd time around dinner &amp; 4th time just before sleeping. Yes, some times are closer than others while others are farther apart but I would never tell my patients to take it every 6hrs b/c concerns you've noted.

Depends: If you have a chronic pulmonary condition that would make you more vulnerable to complications, then antibiotics may be indicated.  For the vast majority of people, antibiotics for just bronchitis is unnecessary.

Depends: Unless you've had your sinusitis for a long time or otherwise have reason to suspect that it is bacterial in origin, the vast majority of sinusitis is viral in nature, and antibiotics will do nothing but breed resistance.
