Maybe: Migraine headaches are particular type of headache with symptoms of nausea, visual lines, intense headache developing after prodromal symptoms.  Eye strain and eye fatigue are another type of headache. If the glasses helped you might just have had eye strain. There are medications and nasal sprays for actual migraine headaches.

Migraine headaches: immediate management of migraines with NSAIDs primarily naproxen which is available over-the-counter is quite effective.  Other over-the-counter modalities include feverfew and magnesium.  If you are having recurrent migraines then you may need to be on preventative medications. Migraines: You should see a practitioner about frequent migraines.  Nausea is considered a usual accompaniment of migraines.  When the headaches are frequent, sometimes using medications to treat them too often can actually cause the headaches to be frequent.  Otherwise there are many reasons, like sleep deprivation, stress, or other triggers.  Please see a doctor.

Menstrual migraine: Is triggered in susceptible women by fluctuating estrogen levels, usually a decrease in estrogen level just prior to menses. Research has shown that the premenstrual administration of estrogen could decrease, delay, or prevent a migraine attack. 
Rec.: see orofacial pain or headache specialist for further investigation.

Maybe: May be migraines, may be something more serious.  I always recommend a thorough evaulation.  Your doctors can guide you toward the right treatment.  Wake up headaches sometimes can be a sign of an underlying sleep disorder as well.

Time for evaluation.: Swelling of both the ankles and feet can be the symptoms of a number of things. Migraine headaches may or may not be associated with the swelling. You need to have a thorough evaluation to begin untangling  the possibilities. Begin with a primary care of internal medicine specialist.

Jaw problems, occipital nerve irritation, weather, diet, hunger, sleep lack, stress and many other things cause migraines as well. See a specialist in migraines to get preventative measures that limit frequency and intensity

Visit ER: Administration of DHE-45, ketamine, lidocaine, other agents to be a very safe and reasonable treatment for a massive headache. DHE-45 is used frequently in the hospital emergency rooms or urgent care to stop a severe migraine and headache. Good luck.
