what is jersey finger and how is it treated?

A torn flexor tendon: A jersey finger occurs when the flexor tendon tears off of the bone at the base of the distal phalanx.  This frequently occurs in football when a jersey is grabbed making a tackle. Hence the name.

This is a serious injury, and should be evaluated and treated by a qualified hand surgeon. It is time-sensitive, and prompt assessment within days is ideal.

I hate to say it: I personally believe that the "top" dermatologists are in nyc. Or choose a board certified dermatologist first, in south jersey. Travel to nyc if you are not satisfied. Good luck and all the best.

Moregellons: This is a rare condition i believe more common in women i would see a dermatologist at a tertiary medical center.

Give it time: I would give it more than a week.  Keep working on moving it daily for the next month or so.  If it still has not improved follow up.

ANS: That must have been a smelly thing. Never heard of getting hantavirus from this. Check with local health department about cases or hantavirus in NJ and how folks got it. Usually dust inhalation with mouse feces. Did it smell mousey?

: The old way, common sense and being able to adjust to game time decisions. If healthy and vaccinated/boosted you should have peace of mind at least, going forward there will be no guarantee that no rapidly spreadable disease will take place, specifically on cruises.

All over: The pooled flu vaccine, the one with ten doses per vial, contains thymerisol.  The individually dosed flu vaccines (one dose per syringe) do not.  Whether you go to a cvs or a doctor's office, ask for the one you want.  Thymerisol, by the way, has not been shown in many years to harm anyone.
