Possibly infection: Cound be an abscess or a swollen lymph node. See a dentist to rule out a dental problem and then a physician for all else.

Most likely TMJ pain: If opening your jaw causes pain this can be because you TMJ is not working normally.  There are many causes of this ranging from trauma, arthritis, clenching and grinding you teeth.  There can be other caused also such as ear infections, so it is best to see your dentist and have this checked out.

Possibly grinding !: Bruxism , or tooth grinding, along with clenching your teeth together, especially at night time when you are asleep, could be a major cause of headaches and jaw soreness and pain. Have your dentist check you for these signs and report any symptoms to him/her for getting the proper treatment. The treatment could be as simple as fabricating a proper nightguard/bite guard for you. / good luck.!

Possible lymph node: A neck swelling under the jaw line is a common place to find an enlarged submandibular lymph node.  Neck lymph nodes can swell up and then spontaneously regress in the setting of infections, but if the lump hasn't gone away in over a year, it should be evaluated by a physician and possibly removed.  Congenital cysts and enlarged salivary glands can also cause a neck lump in that location.

ENT or OMS: Could range from an infected upper tooth, to a sinus infection, to TMJ problem, to tumor. See ENT doc or oral surgeon for diagnosis/treatment recommendations.

TMJ or muscle?: If the pain is under your chin it may be a muscle.  Put your fingers where it is sore and open and close and move your tongue.   It it is a muscle and it is sore you need to find out why.  Pain indicates something is wrong.  Call your dentist and get this looked at to be sure it is nothing serious like and infection.

Abnormal bone growth: After puberty, is is unsual for bones to continue to grow rapidly.  Abnormal bone growth, eespecially when painful, can be a symptom of a hormonal or genetic problem, infection or tumor.  Please see your doctor right away.

Probably normal: If your Dr didn't feel anything abnormal it's likely ok. See if you feel the same tissue on the opposite side. If you do it's probably a normal body structure or a collection of fatty tissue(lipoma). If the area grows in size have it rechecked.

hi, i had a whiplash injury. although its gotten better, my head, jaw, neck, and back still badly hurts. head feels heavy. what to do?

Whiplash: Have physical therapy. Take ibuprofen. Do range of motion neck exercises several time a day.

had late period 3 months late, dhea-s 599 mcg/dl, chin/jaw hurts/growing out, could this be cushings? moon-face? what are the other possible causes?

Late period: You need to see a doctor to help you figure all this out.  Either an Endocrinologist or a Gyn who does gyn-endo.  The DHEA-S is high.  It is unlikely that this is from Cushing's, but this would be one part of the assessment.  A more common cause is polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).  DHEA-S is an androgen and can sometimes cause excess hair and acne.
