IgG antibodies: Intravenous immunoglobulin (ivig) is a collection of IgG antibodies pooled from the plasma of over 1000 blood donors. Extensive processing to remove other antibodies and possible contaminants makes ivig expensive. The solution that the antibodies are dissolved in sometimes is high in sugar & should be given carefully to diabetics. Most brands also have preservatives in the product.

Go ahead: and have your IVIG as scheduled, you may very well have an infection causing this diarrhea, I don't know why are you getting the IVIG for, but at any rate your immunity seems compromised. The doctors will evaluate you first and usually you get some IV hydration prior to the IVIG infusion, wish you all the best

Ivig: Dyspnea is common after ivig, they can change the rate of the infusion. Ivig does not affect ige, this may be elevated secondary to other issues you have.

Primary reason: Ivig has many clinical uses but its primary use is to augment resistance to infections in patients with igg deficiency - either hypogammaglobulinemia or combined variable immunodeficiency (cvid).

Possibly: If you are deficient and symptomatic (recurrent infections), they can possibly help your body fight infections better.  Just because you have an igg deficiency does not mean your are immune deficient, however.  Many people with low numbers have normal function and really are asymptomatic.

Multifocal : Multifocal motor neuropathy (mmn) and motor neuronopathy (which includes a number of conditions including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [als]) are complicated neuromuscular conditions that loosely resemble each other in terms of symptoms, but that should become more divergent with careful examination and thorough electrodiagnostic and laboratory testing.  It would be unusual (but not impossible) for mmn to occur in the lower limbs.  Because the implications of both conditions are serious, a "second opinion" or "confirmatory consultation" from an experienced, board-certified neurologist with additional fellowship training in neuromuscular disorders, should always be considered.  Such expertise can usually be found at university medical centers, although in some cases a trip to a national center of excellence may be required to clarify the situation.

Anaphylactic Risk: Severe allergic- type rxns ( including fatal) associated with infusions (intravenous) Iron Dextran administration can occur.  Therefore should only be given when oral iron is not effective or possible.  Test does should be given and then rest given when lab-confirmed iron deficiency confirmed. Need to continue oral iron until iron stores are repleted--about 3 months. Very effective when used.

Uncertain what mmn?: I would like to help but  need more information. Depending on the setting you can use  rituxan (rituximab) to help certain conditions and sometimes other meds  are used. These  are things  to discuss  with your physician.
