Not likely.: See recent impactful publcation in the new england journal of medicine [n engl j med. 2012 may 10;366(19):1803-13. Epub 2012 may 5]. The increased risk of birth defects associated with ivf was no longer significant after adjustment for parental factors. The risk of birth defects associated with icsi remained increased after multivariate adjustment.

I'm not a specialist: Caveat: I'm not a reproductive endocrinologist. Based on my research (&amp; anybody out there correct me if I'm wrong) looks a bit dicey, but there's hope. had failed ivf cycle today, as dr. says only 02 eggs were retrieved from 9 follicles grown & those two failed to fertilize with icsi. is it possible?

Yes: Normal women have a cycle every month but only a few pregnancies in her life.  The careful success of a pregnancy requires a host of issues to successfully line up.  probably 60% of impregantions are still not successful and even in the face of many sperm many eggs are never impregnanted.   Much is still a mystery.

my hubs was diagnosed with globozoospermia. we did ivf with icsi with ooygote activation/calcium ionophore. fertilization failed. will it happen again?

Fertility evaluation: Male factor infertility must be dealt with on a case by case basis. If some normal sperm can be identified then pregnancy should be possible. In some cases donor sperm may be suggested. Discuss with your specialist the options to help what is best for you.

i was in the process of ivf and after egg retrieval my eggs did not fertilize. when should my period start? i was not on progesterone.

Sooner: Usually the menstrual cycle may start sooner after an egg retrieval without Progesterone support. If you don't start then do a pregnancy test. Especially if you had intercourse prior to the egg retrieval.

my amh level at blood test is 2.99 pg/ml. but doc. says i hv poor quality eggs after failed ivf fertilization. is there any test to determine egg qual?

Second Opinion: DO another cycle of IVF with another doctor. If still there is no fertilization, then that is possible that your egg quality is not the best. Maybe go to Australia, London or Germany and USA to see what happens here.
