Pain after IVF: It could be either ovarian enlargement and OHSS or if two embryos were transferred there could be one in the uterus and one in the fallopian tube. If you are in pain, please see your IVF physician.

female, almost 40, amh 4.43 ng/ml, prolactin 773 mu/l, other hormones normal. i am planning to do egg freezing and would like to know if there is a risk of having severe ohss if hormonal stimulation for egg freezing takes place few months before ivf?

: Ovarian hyperstimulation is avoided by physicians treating infertility via IVF by monitoring closely the production of estrogen related to the amount of ovarian stimulation.  Your AMH is within excellent range for cryopreservation of eggs.

i'm told that lupron (leuprolide) trigger prevents ohss. why am i still in sharp pains 60hrs post ivf egg retrieval? is it pms? trigger e2 4200, 32 eggs retrieved.

PLEASE: Call your ivf doc about this, do not spend time online. Complications following egg retrieval are uncommon but can be serious; and nothing absolutely predicts ohss but peak e2 of 4200 is definitely risky. Your ivf doctor wants to hear from you!

i had a severe ohss after egg retrieval (ivf). the doctor drained 2l of fluid from the abdomen about a week ago. i got my first period, but my right ovary is still 7cm, and i still have some fluid. can i start exercises like lifting or hitt?

: Just begin with light exercise for a couple weeks then advance to HITT as tolerated. I would advise against HITT at this moment. Take care.

Feb 8 or 10: If egg retrieval is on wednesday, then a day 3 embryo transfer will be on saturday. If a day 5 embryo transfer, it will be on monday.

is ivf egg collection without sedation painful than hsg?

Accepted Answer

Yes: It would be very painful. The needle must be moved around a lot to get eggs out so you would not want to do that completely awake. Normally HSG is not painful if done the right way

Minimal pain: The vaginal ultrasound guided egg retrieval should have minimal pain when IV narcotics are given. The embryo transfer is usually painless.

i'm currently recovering from ohss due to ivf. i woke up with a swollen back on the right side of my body and it's aching. what does this mean?

Poss cyst rupture: If you are having significant pain, you may have had a cyst rupture. IV if really bad, you could have a torsion, when the ovary gets twisted. If it's bad, call your MD. The swelling is likely to the excess fluid you tend to have with OHSS, and if you have been laying on one side, it will settle on that side.

can amh levels >4 ng/ml correlate with higher risk of severe ohss in ivf procedure? how to prevent it / reduce the risk of ohss to zero if you have amh above this value?

Accepted Answer

: Yes higher AMH can correlate with OHSS, however there are a few things your doctor can do to decrease your risk. Including using a lupron trigger, doing a freeze all cycle, and there’s been some data that cabergoline and aspirin started with 24 hours of egg retrieval decrease the risk.
