i recently was recently diagnosed w a uti, took antibiotic keflex and felt better. now i have burning, itchiness, & small welts. is this all linked?

Yes: You are most likely experiencing an allergic reaction to bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). Because one component of Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is sulfamethoxazole, you should not take Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) if you are allergic to sulfa drugs. Severe dermatologic reactions, including fatalities have been reported with the use of bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). Discontinue the antibiotic and see your doctor for an alternative treatment/follow-up.

Probably not: Allergies to antibiotics can be life threatening.  One symptom of allergy is itching.  Severe allergy could produce itching and swelling of your airway so that you cannot breathe.  Call your  dr immediately or an advice nurse.  Consider stopping the antibiotic immediately.

? Urticaria: and could chronic if that has been going on for sometime, please see an allergist, if not, could be just acute urticaria and will go on its own, OTC  antihistaminic, unless contraindicated, would help in the interim, good luck

Bite: Likely a bite from a spider or other insect. These can sometimes get infected. See urgent care as may need antibiotics if really getting painful, swollen.

See doctor: Itchy skin alone isn't a reason for an antibiotic.  Since rhizin helps it sounds allergic talk to your doctor about changing soap or detergent , possibly a drug you take like pain medicine or perfumed skin creams.

RANDOM TINY WELT: IF ITS "NOW", GIVE IT A DAY OR TWO TO FIND OUT IF IT WILL DISAPPEAR ON ITS OWN.
IT DOESNT SOUND SERIOUS YET, BUT IT COULD BE AN INSECT BITE OF SOME SORT.
