Try it: OTC. No prescription needed. Not dangerous. If no improvement after a week, see a Dr. Various possible causes for this itch.

Possible cyst: What you are describing could be a cyst, hemangioma, or less likely skin cancer.  Hard to say without a photo.  It is not an STI, but you should still see your doctor to get a positive ID on what it is.  Ingrown hairs are common in that area, but usually are not purple.  Moles/nevi can appear anywhere, and you may have developed one there, but it shouldn't itch.  Best to have it checked out!

Folliculitis?: Several things could do this, but the most common is folliculitis, i.e. pimple-like infection/inflammation, especially if some bumps have pubic hairs in the center. Pubic folliculitis is especially common in young people who shave the area. See a doctor to confirm and get appropriate treatment. If you shave, stop for a couple of weeks.

Rash: Some people do get a rash with medications like lexapro, (escitalopram) but it's usually more generalized rather than being in only one place.  You might want to look at your underwear for sources of irritation, plus whether you've been using a different laundry soap?  Your primary care doctor can take a look, and offer more personalized ideas.

Diagnosis: The first step is to determine the diagnosis. Yeast, staph and hair follicle infections are common causes of infections in this area. Schedule a visit for an exam and testing.

Mons bumps: May be folliculitis, infection  of  hair follicle, very common especially if shave.  Would follow with doctor/ urgent care.They can give topical antibiotics ( sometimes bacitracin) that may hepl, sometimes you need oral antibiotics as well .Wash well 2 x a day. See a doctor this week.

See GYN: Many reasons including allergy to latex in condom (if this was used), vaginal preparations, or even a yeast infection. Need to get examined by your GYN.

Get in: This could be a lymph node, a cyst or another typer of mass. I recommend that you get in to have the lump evaluated by your physician to make sure it is not something serious. In the meantime, you can place some heat on the area and see if it gives you some relief.  Take care.

Skin rash?: Your info is insufficient for assessment.vThe spots may represent an allergic reaction to a chemical or substance in the underwear but other possibilities such as fungal infection cannot be excluded. Check with a dermatologist if the issue persists
