Probable allergies: Itchy ears could be caused by wax or eczema. Sometimes there is no obvious reason. Prescribed cortisone drops usually are very effective. Sore throat and congested nose could be caused by viruses, bacterias and allergies. Allergies are very common. Tx try Claritin (loratadine) or allegra, but no decongestant like claritin-d/afrin/allegra-d. Decongestants can elevate blood pressure, cause racing heart/insomnia.

i have a rattling sound in my chest, itchy ears, and a sore throat but no other symptoms.  should i see a dr or wait a little?

Rattling sound: The most common cause would be a viral URI - which usually gets better on its own.   But we take special precaution with people who smoke, have diabetes, underlying lung problems (asthma, copd).  Or if there's any shortness of breath or extended fever.

i'm abroad & previously lost voice& stronger allergy meds helped. now have sore throat, chest congestion, and itchy ear. do i have allergies or a cold?

Both: allergies can be superimposed by infections, especially viral infections, can give same symptoms as having colds, trust there are drug stores where you currently are, saline nasal washes, salt water gargles, plenty of fluids and rest as much as you can will definitely help, allergy meds with decongestants, unless hypertensive, taken regularly would help too,antibiotics later if those measures fail

Itchy ear: Possibly uri.  Possibly allergy. Do you have seasonal allergy? Did something like an antihistamine provide relief?

Viral: The red sore throat is likely from a viral infection which however does not usually cause itchy ears.  Perhaps you have a fungal infection in the external ear canals often from getting water into the ears.  If so, you will need to consult your doctor to get you some antifungal ear drops (+/-) cortisone.   I don't believe these two conditions are  more coincidental than connected however.

Ear infection: Sounds most likely to be an upper respiratory virus.   Treatment is just symptomatic. Lots of liquids, mucous thinners, humidification, tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin for fever.

You may have: unknown allergies.  Your symptoms seem consistent with environmental allergies resulting in allergic rhinitis or sinusitis.  Try taking an OTC non-sedating antihistamine like loratadine.  An allergist can help you discover if you are allergic to pollens, etc.

i get frequent itchy left ear following a sore throat on the left side, why is this? it happens atleast once every 2 month. is it just ear wax/allergy

It is your : Allergy acting up. Get some otc allergy meds and  start taking them on a daily basis .Some food / fruits can cause the itching and sore throat you just described. You may need to make a list yourself of what you are sensitive to and have an allergist check you out if condition worsened.
