good morning i have small glands forming on my right finger it havent affected my writing yet but it itches and sometimes pain.is there perhaps a medication i can purchase to stop the glands from forming?

Nodes: If these knob like structures are located on either side of the joint just under the fingernail, these are probably Heberden's nodes which are tiny bony spurs indicative of( wear and tear) osteoarthritis of that joint. These tend to run in families. An anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen may reduce pain in the affected joint. These nodes may form on other fingers in the future

With or without: itching - can't tell you if you have an STD. Some STD's are silent. If you have had unprotected sex- getting tested is prudent. Take care.

Accepted Answer

Viral?: If your neck glands are swollen, the itching may well be from a viral infection.  At times, the problem gets much worse a week into the infection before it gets better.  Try antihistamine up to 4 x daily. If problem is intolerable or worsening, consult your doctor.

Needs to be seen: If you have had a lymph node (gland) that has been enlarged for more than three months, you should have it evaluated by your doctor.

Tinea: Could be a fungal infection that commonly occurs in "moist" areas of the body. Tinea corporis - google it for images. It responds well to prescription strength topicals. See a dermatologist.

Seek Immediate Attn: Without seeing the problem, have to worry first and foremost about cellulitis, AKA infection of the skin and subcutaneous portion thereof. If this so, then prompt prescription of appropriate antibiotic would be necessary. 

Other lesser differentials are some form of bite or skin reaction that your arm came in contact with. But again, this area should be examined by a doctor immediately.

The apocrine sweat: glands in the armpit secrete a fatty type of sweat different from eccrine/skin sweat glands. Bacteria work on apocrine sweat creating bromhidrosis resulting in offensive and hard to control odor. The basic strategy is cleaning the skin regularly (1-2 X daily) with germicidal soap to reduce bacteria count, shaving as your are doing, drying, strong anti-perspirant. Change Degree..?? irritant?

Eczema or infection: You may have an eczema or an infection either fungal or bacterial. Don't ignore, sometimes it starts as a rash then you develop a serious infection and a boil. See your doctor, until then keep clean and do not use any deodorants.

a spot in my underarm are , really itches amd its brown .what can it be ? ringworm?

Maybe: It could also be eczema or a inverse psoriaisis. See dermatologist for examination and treatment. Using topical antifungal in the interim such as micatin or Lamisil (terbinafine) will help of this is ringworm. Any other areas involved?
