Get checked: The only way to know what this is is to be examined by your doctor.  It sounds more like a yeast infection of the skin and surrounding area than something that would be passed during sex. Without an exam there is no way to know. If an over the counter yeast medication solves the problem then most likely that's all it was. Schedule a visit.

Variable: Labial swelling with itching can be from external/internal yeast, bacteria or from frequent sexual activity. Your doctor should be able to determine if there is anything that needs to be treated. Vagisil may help with the itching.

Where are they?: If this finger-like extra skin is on the outside of your labia majora, it may be part of the labia, or that fold that occurs between your vagina and inner thigh.  If the skin is on the inside of your labia majora, they may be your labia minora.  Going further towards the hole or entrance of your vagina, you may have a hymen that can appear as two flaps of skin. They would be right at the opening.

Hormonal etiology: The reason could be varied.  Could be due to progesterone surge prior to cycle but also infectious.  Need to see your ob/gyn to assure to subclinical candidiasis.

Can be yeast: Yeast infections typically have a thick white discharge that is in clumps and usually itches.  Yeast can be in the vagina but can also come onto the labia and even on the skin of the vulva and cause itching around the vulva and labia.

my labia majora is itching and sore i had sex with a condom on a couple of hours ago and it just started itching he's clean but am i okay please help?

Sensitivity issues: You may have a localized skin reaction to the material of the condom or any lubricant or other chemical it carried. Most are made of latex and some have reactions to it.. Use of a mild OTC steroid cream may reduce the itching and irritation.Condoms are also made from other materials.Check the source and see if this helps.

accidentally scratched vagina to the point where skin broke. now the cuts itch. the cuts n are on the labia majora. is it safe to put alcohol on it or what can i put in the cuts to heal them and stop the itching?

: Just keep the area clean. Alcohol would do little other than trigger pain. The itching is part of self-healing. Find some antibiotic cream (not ointment) that you can use daily while it heals. If you just keep the area clean it should self-heal in a week or so.
