? Shingles ?: Herpes virus loves to produce shooting pain along nerve pathways.  On the chest this can cause shooting from back to front.  In the face it can shoot from ear to nose.  This is branch of trigeminal nerve.  Well known and difficult to treat.  Discuss with your doctor.

If it progresses or continues, there are other things to rule out such as ENT issues or Neurologic problems, hence consult a specialist in those fields. They can help you rule out things like Sinus infection or Migraines.
