Accepted Answer

Should not: because they test for metabolites of alcohol.  But, if you want to be sure, don't use this hairspray.

i inhaled some isopropyl alcohol while removing hair extensions and some got on my scalp. i feel strange now, is it dangerous?

Fresh air: Always try to work in a well ventilated area when working with volatile liquids. Go get some fresh air for about 20 - 30 minutes and you should be fine.

is it okay to rub isopropyl alcohol on head for razor bumps? will it be able to dry out the razor bumps?

Accepted Answer

Not effective: Best to use non alcohol containing facial moisturizer. Also shaving with, not against the direction of hair growth can reduce irritation from shaving as well. Softening hair with warm, moist towel prior to shaving or shaving in shower also helpful.

Alcohol: Unlikely, but not the best idea. Injection could cause local problem. The amount would be important. Isopropyl alcohol causes metabolic acidosis in large amount.

Wound: you can use hydrogen peroxide to cleanse your wound or you can use rubbing alcohol but you may want to use one or the other, not both together

Isopropyl alcohol: Definitely some isopropyl alcohol absorbs through the skin when applied- usually for medical uses. Fortunately, however, you need very large doses for toxicity to develop.  Your liver can certainly handle the trace amounts that may come through the skin from hand sanitizers and the like. Even over the long term, I wouldn't worry too much. Drinking alcohol (any) would have far more of an affect.

i had strep so can i disinfect my lipsticks with 91% isopropyl alcohol to keep from throwing away my lipsticks?

Probably but: Not the intended use for isopropyl alcohol.  A bleach containing product is better

Killing bacteria: Hydrogen peroxide is useless for the purpose that you describe. It is good for removing blood. Alcohol will kill bacteria. However, a few drops of bleach in a cup of water would do better than the others.

why do they say not to put isopropyl alcohol on large areas of the body? i got some on my chest and stomach, and now i'm really worried it absorbed.

Accepted Answer

Not to  worry: Do not drink it - that is the  risk. The  absorption from topical application of these  areas is little from your brief exposure. Drinking  it is where  the risk is.
