It depends: Are you taking thyroid medication? On any other meds?
Why was this test done?
Have you been told a bout having a thyroid disease? The TSH level in your case is low....Suggesting a possible hyperactive thyroid state..
This could be a lab error as well.
Would check with your doc..

More complicated...: There are many signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism, including fatigue, weight gain, constipation, cold intolerance, depression &amp; more. Total T3 (liothyronine) changes with time in the menstrual cycle &amp; as one enters menopause. FT3 (liothyronine) is better lab, but labs not as accurate as for FT4/T4. T3 (liothyronine) &amp; Free T3 (liothyronine) can go down with other illness you have like depression &amp; asthma if sig. Replacement is not rec &amp; controversial.

my tsh level was high 17, t3 and t4 level were low before 8 months ago. i didn't use any medications. now my tsh is 1.8, and t3 and t4 are normal . why it happen ? is it possible ?

It is possible.: If your diet changed meaning that you got  iodine  or more iodine in your diet through the food or salt you eat.

Low  tsh: A tsh of0.05 is very low and is consistent with hyperthyroidism in which case the t4 and t3 would be elevated. A tsh of 0.5 would be within normal limits. In  cases of subclinical hyperthyroidism the tsh is low and the t4 and t3 are normal, as in your case. I recommend rechecking your tsh to be sure.  A thyroidologist or endocrinologist is best to evaluate your situation if your tsh is still low.

Hypothyroid and T3: If the TSH is normal, then that is strong evidence that you are normal.  Pituitary TSH responds mostly to T3.  If you T3 were too low, the TSH should be high.  Indeed, I am not sure why T3 is being measured.  There are more problems with the T3 assay than that of T4. This could just be "lab error".

i have a tsh level of 5.69 and just found out that my t4 level is 1.1. what does this mean? if my t3+t4 is normal then what could be the problem?

Check antibodies: Ask your doctor for a test called thyroid peroxidase antibodies. If it's high or positive, then you have autoimmune thyroid disease and will need thyroid replacement in the future, if not now depending on how you feel.

Some controversy: Most labs use the reference range of 0.5 - 4.70 or 5.0 miu/l for "normal". However, the american association of clinical endocrinologists (hormone specialists) recommends a narrower range: 0.3 - 3.0 your doc can advise you which reference range s/he follows. T3 (liothyronine) (total): 80-200 ng/dl; T4 (total): 4.5-12.5 µg (micrograms)/dl; T4 (free): 0.8-1.8 ng/l.

Higher dose: Tsh is more sensitive than T3 (liothyronine) or T4 levels for identifying patients whose thyroid levels are abnormal for them.  A high TSH means that your pituitary gland is trying to get your thyroid to make more thyroid hormone.  Since your thyroid can't (or you wouldn't be on thyroid hormone), you probably need a stronger thyroid tablet.  Talk to your doc to make sure you're getting the most from your pills.

Still hypothyroid: Not sure how long u have been on thyroid replacement, but if been on 200mcg daily over 6-8 weeks, likely require increase dose. If u have just had u'r medication adjusted the. Repeat TSH usually done in 6 wks; the numbers show that u'r body is still in hypothyroid state and that u'r thyroid gland is making less and less hormone or the T4 is not being converted to T3, (liothyronine) so thyroid medicine needed

i guess my t3 (liothyronine) and t4 levels are normal but tsh is high.my weights increasins n i also have polycistric ovaties....what should i do...?

Go see your doc: You need to increase your thyroid medication.  High TSH is sensitive for low thyroid.
