Not for pain: It is a relatively sedating serotonin blocking agent - a reuptake inhibitor and antagonist. Used most often for sleep - or rarely at lower does - for anxiety. 
Opiates have other uses but typically almost entirely for pain.

: Standard 10-panel test: typically looks for cocaine, marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, propoxyphene, &amp; Quaaludes. ETG is not part of the panel, but the testing organization could do ETG test, is asked to test for it. ETG test can be positive for 5 days after the last drink.

No.: Trazodone and oxycodone are entirely different classes of medications.  Trazodone works on the serotonin receptor.  Oxycodone works on the opiate receptor.  The only "pain" related diagnosis that trazodone has use for is possibly complex regional pain syndrome.

Caution: Citalopram (Celexa) and Trazodone (Desyrel) function in similar fashion. You need to discuss with your prescribing physician to be sure this is a purposeful and thoughtful move

Depends: Most frequent complaint i hear is really, really sluggish brain and body.
But wait a minute; ever read all the possible side effects. Don't!
aspirin would never get thru.
I got off track; you consult with the psychiatrist who prescribed it.

No way: Considering that trazodone does not come in an IV form and you'd have to prepare it yourself in a non-sterile way, "shooting" this medication is a recipe for disaster.  Don't try this at home or any other place.

Headaches: Almost all meds might cause headaches - more often than not in early days of the med.

Trazodone/Desyrel: Trazodone is an antidepressant often use to help with sleep.  It can cause sleepiness, a hung-over feeling the next day, blurred vision, dry mouth, increased appetite, incontinence among other things.
