: I would go to Drugs.com and look it up. Also look at their drug interaction check list as there may be meds you should not take with it. It is not mononitrates that are unhealthy but other kinds as I recall.

Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Depends: English literature shows it might be protective for the kidney but if you already have kidney problems high doses of b vitamins can be harmful. It like any medication should be discussed with your diabetes doctor.

Disproven: This has supposedly been debunked in some articles. But the theory is that if a thiamine deficient patient is given glucose this would deplete further thiamine stores and further worsen wernickes.
