Nasal cavity: There is no direct connection to brain from the nostrils, but at the top of the nasal cavity which forms the floor of the olfactory nerve bulbs, the fibers of the olfactory bulbs inter the nasal cavity through the cribiform plate of ethmoidal sinus on each side of the midline, any frcture of the skull base in the frontal region caused the CSF to drip into the nasal cavity cause CSF nasal disharge.

is it true that one nostril leads to the brain and the other to the heart?

No: Both lead to your throat and to the lungs. The nostrils heat up and filter the air we breath, the lungs hate it when the air is cold and full of dust.

if i breath from one nostril alternative does it cause less oxygen supply to my body or brain ?

Accepted Answer

No: No, because one would automatically breathe all the necessary air through the other nostril. If that doesn't work out, he can just open his mouth.

accidentally a mosquito entered into one of my nostril,i tried alot to get it out but ,it didn't come out of the nose. is there any danger to my health? where it enters from my nose?to the brain??

: It would die quickly and the body would be trapped in the nasal mucus. From there it would dissolve over time or be sneezed out or swallowed. I doubt it would have any impact on you health.

five days ago i was mulching and when i stood up i hit the back of my head hard on a cement overhang. the worst symptoms i had were pain, fatigue, and perhaps mild nausea. today i noticed one nostril slightly dripping. could this be brain fluid?

Unlikely: CSF leak isn't that common, and the trauma you sustained is relatively of low impact, however if you are still suffering other symptoms , you may want to see your doctor for assessment and reassurance, best wishes

See a neurologist: More likely you have migraines. Tumors only uncommonly cause headaches. A ct scan head can allay your fears. Your neurologist will make proper diagnosis and manage your symptoms.

Yes: Closest way to the thinnest bony structures surrounding the brain were there's a lot of blood flow.

Yes but take care...: Water contaminated by amoebas like Balamuthia or Nagleria, can occur directly from the tap, contaminated either from the source plant or along household plumbing. Though it is safe to use water  after boiling it, the problem is keeping it uncontaminated during the twelve hours  since amoebic cysts can travel in dust. Keep the boiled water protected until the time of use, and it should be fine.

brief nosebleed at beach in emerald isle, nc. flushed lower nostrils w iced brita tap water after. (did not irrigate sinus). worry abt brain amoeba?

Nosebleed : There is little risk of amoeba infection related to a nosebleed or filtered water irrigation but would recommend rinsing not with just filtered water but using salt water rinses which are better for the lining of your nose and sinus
